Decided to record this since I've had the same content for the entirety of my channel. However, this is really well made and actually conveys a series of different possible stories. Well done!
Awesome little game, I didn't really read any comments before playing so when I launched it, I stared for a minute thinking it was real? Haha, those 5 Minutes had me drawn in, I couldn't figure out what was happening but then I was like Oh S**T.. Love the atmophere and visuals, very impressive. Here's the full playthrough with no commentary.
Have a great day, can't wait to see what else you plan to release!
I know I'm late to the party with this, but I enjoyed my time with it. It definitely feels like a part of a larger experience, quite similarly to how I felt about the RE7 guest house intro. My main "complaint" would be that nothing was really interactable. Even if it had no effect on the story at all, it would have been nice to fiddle with things to fill up time instead of waiting around. Anyways, I'd love to see more of your work in the future, keep it up!
P.S. Is it just a coincidence that this is set right after The Blair Witch? I don't think the stories are linked or anything, but the date is so close it seems intentional.
Waow... That was really something. I'm actually at a loss for words. The visuals, the camera movement, the sounds and the music; it all just created a really unsettling mood, that I haven't experienced in a long time.
I really hope that you will dabble a bit more with this "found footage" vhs-like visual because you nailed it. What a gem you have created here.
Great atmosphere. Not sure I knew exactly what was going on, but I feel like that was on purpose. The graphics were really amazing, almost looked real in parts.
P.T is gone, but the impact it did still lingers just like you can see in this short demo. September 1999 takes that small confined location and make you put out your own theories of what's going on, who am I and why people are dying here.
This game has an atmosphere to it that I don't think I've come across before. Everything feels so real... perhaps too real. But I certainly enjoyed the ride, and thanks so much for giving us this experience!
Really looking forward to seeing what other delights you spoil us with in the future! Keep up the great work =)
As far as I know, I'm not. However there does seem to be something weird happening with Unity ignoring the resolution choice indeed. I'll have to look in to it.
What I do know is you can start the game windowed in whatever resolution you want, and alt tab to full screen. Obviously that's not optimal, and will have to be looked into.
edit: The noise cutting to the sides is by design though.
There's a slight color bleed and blur on the sides of the 4:3 "screen" as well, which I thought looked nice — plus having the effect fill the screen keeps the all the blacks the same shade, which I thought was less jarring than pure black on the sides.
Not saying it's necessarily a good choice, but that's what I went with in this one. Might do pure black in the future tbh. 🤷♂️
Whether or not it was good is an opinion of aesthetic.
I fall on the pure black side, as I felt like the fuzz bleeding over broke the illusion and was a little distracting. However I understand better why you chose the other route. ^^
Regardless of how you swing in the future, I am excited to see what you do next.

Had a super messy playthrough of this game but really enjoyed it all the same! :D
Tense little game with a really immersive graphics filter, great stuff!
This game has a really good atmosphere, I love it! :D Greetings from Germany!
Preeeetty creepy. I can dig it.
Gave it a go...
Good Little game with great graphics and sound effects which give a good found footage feel. Heres my playthrough:
This was such a cool horror experience! The VHS filter truly looked awesome and definitely added to the dark and terrifying atmosphere!
Nice Game

I think I may have discovered the truth of this game and the results may HORRIFY YOU #TakeItUpANotch
Friend and I really enjoyed this little experiment, hope to see more similar (and longer?) games from you.
Real Short, But I really like this concept !

Thank you.
Thank you for playing. Will definitely dabble more in to this concept!
Super atmospheric. The VHS effects and aspect ratio made the whole feel of the game a lot more interesting.
I created a review for September 1999's awesome release on Steam, so here's that bit: https://steamcommunity.com/id/padresnowmizzle56783/recommended/952250/
In addition, here's the video I created to boot:
Neat game. I really enjoyed it. Keep it up man

Hey! Do you remember that I said you the Linux version does not work properly? Can I get the newest compiled version and test it again?
I saw the release of the game on Steam. It would be nice if all three platforms were there ;)
Now I have the newest Debian version, I can test it also on Intel or AMD graphics.
And.... please compile the game for 64-bit machine if you can, maybe there was a problem here.
It gave me the heebie jeebies
Really Interesting concept, also chilling experience.
Looks so good that I was almost convinced that it was real footage.
Really good work!
This would honestly work so well in VR
A decent little game. Love the 90s VHS style of the graphics but wasn't really sure what I was supposed to be doing!
I loved this. Excellent work Developers. Please turn this into a full game. The art and atmosphere are amazing.
This was a really cool experience... what have i done?

"Parts" lol. "SPOILERS" ;-)
well now it's a spoiler :)
Well I guess I forgot to post the (Low quality) video I made here soooo...:
Edit: I forgot to mention that I love the game.

What a ride this was! I didn't have any clue what was happening, then it was all so clear and so weird. Loved it :D

I'm curious, are you forcing a resolution in this game? Cause no matter what I chose, it didn't seem to change the quality.
In the 16:9 aspect ratio, the noise cuts into the sides, and I thought maybe running it 4:3 would help, but it did not.
Regardless of that hiccup, the environment looked great. Lacked interaction, but it was still interesting to witness the events.

Oh? What was your intention with that? Why did you chose to let the noise spill over?
Good luck figuring out the resolution thing though. That's such a peculiar bug.

Made a video on this game: pretty cool game actually. Doesn't include any jumpscares, so that's a plus!
I reviewed this game if you have the time to check it out. Enjoyed it, looking forward to more
